Itinerary – Mount Sinai and St. Catherine Tour
🚌 Pick-Up Time
Pick-up from your hotel around 20:00 by air-conditioned bus. Drive approximately 3 hours (220 km) to Moses Mountain and St. Catherine area. Upon arrival, meet your local Bedouin guide who will assist you during the climb.
🧗 Climbing Mount Sinai (Moses Mountain)
Begin your ascent of Mount Sinai around 1:00 AM, reaching the summit before sunrise.
Enjoy the incredible sight of the sun rising above the majestic Sinai Mountains — one of the most spiritual moments you’ll ever experience.
A torch/flashlight will be provided for the night climb.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing, especially in winter when temperatures at the summit can drop significantly.
You may ride a camel for two-thirds of the way, but the final 700 steps must be climbed on foot.
On the way, you’ll find small Bedouin huts offering tea and snacks (optional).
☕ Breakfast at St. Catherine Monastery

After descending from the mountain around 7:00 AM, enjoy breakfast snacks.
Then proceed to visit the Monastery of St. Catherine.
⛪ St. Catherine’s Monastery
Visit the historic St. Catherine’s Monastery, which opens from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM (closed Fridays, Sundays, and on Coptic holidays).

This Greek Orthodox Monastery is one of the oldest in the world. Within its ancient walls stands a unique citadel filled with sacred history and priceless art.
Among its treasures is the St. Catherine’s Museum, home to rare icons painted by Angelos, one of the most renowned artists of the 15th century, as well as six icons by Michael Damaskenos, a master of the 16th-century Cretan School.
Each artifact tells a story of devotion, craftsmanship, and faith that has lasted for more than a thousand years.
After your visit, start the drive back to Sharm El Sheikh around 9:30 AM. Arrival at your hotel is expected around 13:30 PM.
